Medalhista olímpicos e campeões mundiais afirmam que wazari da brasileira foi nítido. Alex Pombo lembra de árbitro: “Já acabou com meu sonho nos Jogos Pan-Americanos”
Não foram só os torcedores brasileiros que ficaram revoltados com a arbitragem na derrota de Maria Portela para a russa Madina Taimazova, nas oitavas de final da categoria até 70kg no judô, na madrugada desta quarta-feira, pelas Olimpíadas de Tóquio 2020. Diversas personalidades do judô se manifestaram em apoio à brasileira e criticando a arbitragem do mexicano Everardo Garcia, que não pontuou uma queda a favor de Portela durante o ponto de ouro e, posteriormente, a eliminou com o terceiro shido (punição) por falta de combatividade.
Medalha de bronze nos Jogos de Atenas 2004 e comentarista da TV Globo, Flávio Canto reclamou da revisão em vídeo, que não anotou wazari para a brasileira.
Medalha de prata em Sydney 2000 e de bronze em Pequim 2008, Tiago Camilo disse ao vivo no SporTV, onde atuou como comentarista, que o toque dos ombros e pescoço da russa no tatame configuravam um wazari. Mais tarde, reforçou o sentimento nas redes sociais. “Foi claramente prejudicada. Tanto no golpe não pontuado quanto na decisão do golden score”, escreveu.
Judoca com passagens pela seleção brasileira, Alex Pombo lembrou do árbitro Eduardo Garcia de sua luta contra o argentino Alejandro Clara, nas semifinais do Pan de Toronto de 2015. Sua derrota foi decidida da mesma forma. “Esse árbitro já acabou com o meu sonho nos Jogos Pan-Americanos de Toronto, trocando o shido faltando segundos pra acabar a luta. Agora nos Jogos Olímpicos fazer uma coisa dessa, acabar com o sonho de um atleta”, escreveu.
Campeões mundiais em suas categorias, João Derly e Luciano Corrêa reforçaram as críticas à arbitragem. “O wazari da Portela foi nítido”, escreveu Corrêa, e acrescentou: “Deixa os atletas decidirem”.
