Jovem encontra 425 moedas de ouro com mais de 1.100 anos em Israel
O jovem Oz Cohen estava trabalhando como voluntário em uma escavação arqueológica em Israel quando encontrou 425 moedas de ouro que datam de 1.100 anos atrás. As informações são da BBC.
“Foi incrível. Cavei no chão e quando cavei o solo, vi o que pareciam ser folhas muito finas. Quando olhei de novo, vi que eram moedas de ouro”, contou Cohen à BBC.
As moedas são do início da era de domínio islâmico, quando a região ainda era parte do Califado Abássida.
Juntas, as moedas pesam cerca de 845 g e valiam o suficiente para comprar uma casa de luxo nas principais cidades do califado na época em que foram enterradas.
“A pessoa que enterrou este tesouro há 1.100 anos deve ter esperado recuperá-lo, e até mesmo prendeu o pote com um prego para que não se movesse”, disseram os diretores da escavação, Liat Nadav-Ziv e Elie Haddad, da Autoridade de Antiguidades de Israel, em um comunicado.
A nota dos arqueólogos continua: “Encontrar moedas de ouro, certamente em quantidade tão considerável, é extremamente raro. Quase nunca as encontramos em escavações arqueológicas, visto que o ouro sempre foi extremamente valioso, derretido e reutilizado de geração em geração”.
